Memorandum <br />May 18, 2021 <br />TO: Board of Public Works <br />FROM: Andrew Netter, Department of Community Investment <br />SUBJECT: Rejection of all bids for 429 N. Harrison Ave. South Bend, IN 46616 <br />On Tuesday, April 13, 2021, the Board of Public Works opened bids to purchase 429 N. Harrison Ave. South <br />Bend, IN 46616. The Board of Public Works received two proposals to purchase, one from Amairany Plata on <br />behalf of Alfredo Plata of 425 N. Harrison Ave. South Bend, IN 46616 and one from Krystal Rangel of an <br />undisclosed address. <br />Amairany Plata’s bid on behalf of Alfredo Plata did not provide a bid amount for the subject property. <br />Krystal Rangel’s bid did not specify their home address or an intended use for the property. <br />In the advertised Notice to Bidders, the following is stated: <br />The address of the property as described above must be included in the subject line of the email to <br />which you have attached your bid. The name of the bidder, address, contact email address and <br />phone number must be included in the body of the email. Bids to purchase said parcel must <br />include price bid for the property plus an explanation of the bidder’s intended use of the property <br />and be received electronically. <br />As such, the Department of Community Investment is requesting that the Board of Works reject all received bids <br />for the sale of 429 N. Harrison Ave. South Bend, IN 46616. We will rebid the property.
