Cover Letter to Ordinance Amending SBMC§4-35 <br /> Massage Establishments&Massage Therapy Regulations <br /> November 19,2012 <br /> Page 2 <br /> • Changing the date for applying for such licenses, at the request of the <br /> Department of Administration of Finance, to "on or before February 28th", <br /> which is similar to St. Joseph County's requirements <br /> The proposed regulations would take effect on January 1, 2013. <br /> As noted by the St. Joseph County Health Department, the proposed amendments are necessary in <br /> order "to protect the integrity of the massage therapy industry". Massage therapy is a valuable <br /> therapeutic service, and its professionalism must be protected.
