REGULAR MEETING APRIL 13, 2021 77 <br />WHEREAS, Transpo agrees to accept the transfer of and full responsibility for the Bus <br />Shelters as described and attached hereto as Exhibit A from Public Works; and <br />WHEREAS, Transpo will adopt a resolution substantially identical to this Resolution <br />agreeing to accept the transfer of the Bus Shelters; and <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: <br />1. The Board of Public Works approves the transfer of ownership of the Bus Shelters listed <br />in Exhibit A to Transpo. <br />2. Transpo accepts ownership of the Bus Shelters listed in Exhibit A and agrees to assume <br />responsibility for maintenance and repair of such Bus Shelters as of the effective date of this <br />Resolution. <br />3. Transpo agrees to allow the City limited use of the advertising panel on the shelters to <br />promote City events and/or programming. <br />4. Miller <br />ATTEST: <br />s/Anne Fuchs, Clerk <br />ADOPT RESOLUTION NO. 17-2021 — A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND <br />INDIANA BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS FOR SEWER AND WATER EXTENSION POLICY <br />FOR AREAS OUTSIDE OF THE CITY LIMITS <br />Ms. Maradik introduced Director of Planning Tim Corcoran to speak about the forthcoming <br />policy. He explained that there is currently no policy regarding these services, so the City wishes <br />to provide a fiscally responsible path forward that encourages compact and efficient development <br />and that encourages revitalization and reinvestment. He explained that the City wants to promote <br />annexation as number one way for new developments to connect to City services, but there <br />would be some exceptions considered. He shared that the City is also providing a map showing <br />areas where water and sewer extensions can take place. He thanked the Legal Department, City <br />Engineering, the Mayor's Office, and the County Health Department for their collaboration.
