• <br /> SUBSTITUTE BILL NO. <br /> ORDINANCE NO. �g� _ ---- <br /> AN ORDINANCE FIXING MAXIMUM SALARIES AND WAGES OF APPOINTED <br /> OFFICERS AND EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, <br /> FOR THE CALENDAR YEAR OF 1989. <br /> STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT <br /> Pursuant to Indiana Code Section 36-4-7-3, the Mayor fixes the <br /> compensation of each appointive officer, deputy, and other employees of <br /> the City. All such wages and salaries are subject to approval by the <br /> Common Council. <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, <br /> INDIANA, as follows: <br /> SECTION I.
