COVERAGE <br />i. These specifications cover pyrophosphate compounds used to stabilize or <br />sequester soluble iron and manganese in potable water. <br /> <br />E. PHYSICAL FORM <br />i. Product shall be a granular form. Powdered material will not be accepted. <br />F. PHYSICAL STANDARDS <br />i. Phosphate blend shall comply with the following physical requirements: <br />1. Color: White <br />2. Solubility: Completely miscible in water <br />3. Percent Phosphate as PO4 Minimum of 80% <br />4. Physical Form: Granular <br />G. CHEMICAL STANDARDS <br />i. Phosphate blend shall contain only NSP approved phosphorous ingredients. <br />ii. No amines or other chelating agents shall be used. <br />iii. Blended phosphate product formulation shall be only sodium salts of <br />phosphate compounds. <br />iv. No potassium salts shall be used. <br />v. Impurities in pyrophosphate products shall not exceed the following <br />concentrations: <br />Arsenic as AS 0.001 mg/1 <br />Copper as CU 0.2 mg/1 <br />Heavy Metals (total as Pb) 0.001 mg/1 <br />Iron FE 0.1 mg/1 <br />Manganese as MN < .05 mg/1 <br />Organics as C None <br />Silica as SIO2 1.0 <br />Zinc as ZN 0.01 mg/1 <br />
