Removal of the surface roots to an approximate depth of 6 <br />inches will be necessary regardless if the trees are removed <br />or not. The roots can also be cut to allow for a <br />replacement sidewalk. <br />Therefore, staff recommendation is for the retention of the <br />trees. <br />NOTE: At this writing, the Parks Department was not able to <br />review the situation in the field. Removal of these trees <br />will also require their approval. <br />
