The plan includes the use of existing plant material combined with new. Several trees are to be removed -- a box elder at the front that is in questionable health, a tree adjacent to the garage which is causinq some structural concern, a box elder at the SW corner which is growing into the eaves, and some "scrub" trees at the fence line. The owner intends to continue the historic motif of using brick as border material. This includes lining the planting beds and walkt"la •s. A new ground level brick patio will be established at the rear entrance using a tile similar to that of the front walk and lined with brick. A new fence will replace an existing stockade t-ype at the rear. Examples of the materials will be presented at the meeting. STANDARDS District Environment New plant material, fencing, walkways., streetlights, signs and benches_. shall be compatible with the character of the neighborhood in size, scale, material, and color. Plant materials and trees in close proximity to buildings, sidewalks or streets that are causing deterioration to those elements should be removed. RECOtvlMEPJDi ;T I ON Even though several trees are to be removed, most of them are not signficant or are causing deterioration to the buildings. The tree in the front yard is of questionable health and presents a potential safety. hazard. Replacement of this tree would be unnecessary due to the closeness of a tree in the adjacent yard.
