<br /> <br />SBBPC <br />OUTH END OARD OF ARK OMMISSIONERS <br />RM <br />EGULAR EETING <br />A21,2008 <br />PRIL <br /> <br />The Board of Park Commissioners of the Park District of the City of South Bend, Indiana met on <br />st <br />Monday the 21 of April 2008 at the O’Brien Administration & Recreation Center, 321 E. Walter <br />St., South Bend, Indiana for its regular meeting. Notice of the date, time and place of the meeting <br />were duly given as required by law. <br /> <br />Park Board members present were as follows: <br />Mr. Robert Henry, President <br />Mr. Robert Goodrich, Vice President <br />Dr. Thomas Kelly <br />Mr. Garrett Mullins <br /> <br />Park Board members absent were as follows: <br /> None <br /> <br />Staff members present: Phil St. Clair, Superintendent; Betsy Harriman, Administrative Director; <br />Bill Carleton, Fiscal Officer; Susan O’Connor, Recreation Director; Randy Nowacki, Director of <br />Golf Operations; Terry DeRosa, Zoo Director; Richard Payton, Development Director; Mark <br />Bradley, Marketing Director; Mike Dyszkiewicz, Maintenance Superintendent; John Martinez, <br />Maintenance Foreman; Thomas Bodnar, Park Board Attorney <br /> <br /> <br />I.The meeting was called to order by Board President Robert Henry at 4:03 p.m. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />II.The first order of business was the interviewing of interested citizens. <br /> <br /> <br />1. <br />Botanical Society <br />Ms. Martha Lewis of the Botanical Society reported that the memorandum of <br />understanding is not quite ready. <br />The annual flower sale will take place soon. <br /> <br />2. <br />Historic Preservation Commission- Amy Herdman <br />Ms. Herdman gave an update of what the Historic Preservation Commission is dong <br />concerning the City Cemetery. They will be doing a spring clean up soon. <br />Director St. Clair thanked her and her group for all the work they have done. He thought <br />there was a great difference in the last couple of years due to the HPC’s efforts. <br />3 <br />. Update on Eagle Scout Project at Fredrickson Park <br />Mr. Shawn Bridges updated the Board on his Eagle Scout project at Fredrickson Park to <br />build an observation deck. He distributed updated plans and reported that the Carpenter’s <br />Union will be helping. He hopes to start on June 7. <br /> <br /> <br /> - - 1 - - <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
