Assistant City Engineer <br />SUBJECT: Contract Award – Trucks R Us <br />Project No. 121-023 2021 Trucking of Biosolids for Land Application <br />DATE: March 15, 2021 <br /> <br /> On March 9, 2021 the Board of Public Works opened and read unit price bids for the above <br />project. The Division of Utilities and Division of Engineering reviewed the documents and finds <br />the information correct and complete. Only one bid was received. The lone quote submission <br />was provided by Trucks R Us. Of the M/WBE Contract goal of 16.9% (MBE = 6.4%, WBE = <br />10.5%), Trucks R Us has committed to M/WBE involvement of 10% MBE and 0% WBE. <br /> <br />The Bids ranked as follows: <br /> <br /> <br />Bidder <br />Unit Price Bid <br />“Per Truck Per Hour” <br /> <br />1. Trucks R Us <br /> <br /> <br />$125.00 <br /> <br /> <br /> The Division of Utilities and Division of Engineering recommend Award of the contract for the <br />2021 Trucking of Biosolids for Land Application to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder, <br />Trucks R Us at the unit price bid of $125.00 per truck per hour. The total contract amount shall <br />be issued as a not to exceed contract based on the 2021 Budget for Land Application. <br /> <br /> We kindly request that the Board of Public Works consider the approval of the subject <br />contract at March 23, 2020 Regular Meeting. <br /> <br /> The MWBE Goal for the project was set at 16.9% per the bid documents. Trucks R Us has <br />committed to a 10% project goal (per MWBE Form 1.0) and intends to employ Kennedy <br />Expressline, Inc. to provide MBE trucking to supply vehicles to haul biosolids. Kennedy <br />Expressline, Inc. assisted Trucks R Us during the 2019 and 2020 Land Application contracts. <br />No WBE Trucking firms were identified in the bid. <br /> <br /> The Division of Utilities will appropriate sufficient funds from the Organic Resources, <br />Contractual Services Other Account (641-06-605-515-439001). <br /> <br />For questions regarding the above recommendation or the subject project, contact Al Greek <br />(Ext. 4210) at the Division of Utilities or Jacob M.
