South Bend Redevelopment Commission
Regular Meeting -May 16, 2008
6. NEW BUSINESS (CONT.)
B. South Bend Central Development Area
(2) continued...
Mr. Blake asked what "public gatherings"
would include. Ms. Laurent responded that
WHIT aims to increase public outreach and
public awareness of what goes on with their
company. Their space will be offered for
public meetings. Ms. Preuss noted that the
new floor plan includes a community room
that can be subdivided with movable walls.
The lobby area will be used to convene
groups and have public events. Ms. Preuss said
they have been in discussions with the
Mayor's office and the Board of Public
Works about that and with the Common
Council. WNIT has been providing that
coverage for Council meetings since the
cable company discontinued their operation.
WNIT has a proposal in front of the city to
12
