It is <br /> a summary of some of the key activities of the Common Council's Health and Public Safety <br /> Committee. This report fulfills the requirement of § 2-10 (i) of the South Bend Municipal Code. <br /> Duties: The Health and Public Safety Committee is charged with "overseeing the many <br /> activities performed by the Department of Code Enforcement, EMS, Fire Department, Police <br /> Department, ordinance violations and related health and public safety issues". <br /> Members: There were four(4) Council Members on this Committee, namely: <br /> Council Member Dr. Fred Ferlic, Chairperson <br /> Council Member Henry Davis, Jr. <br /> Council Member Karen L. White, Vice-Chairperson <br /> Council Member Tim Scott <br /> Marcus Ellison and Kyle Chamberlain are the Citizen members of our Committee. <br /> Meetings: To date this year, there have been twenty (20) meetings of the Health and Public <br /> Safety Committee, with another meeting scheduled for today. Some of those meetings were joiiit <br /> meetings involved with the Personnel and Finance Committee, as well as the Zoning and <br /> Annexation Committee. <br /> Summary of 2012 Committee Activities: This year, some of the topics reviewed included: <br /> 1.
