As
part of this project, high tension electric poles were planned along the south side of the street
through the new intersection that will be created instead of the current 5-points intersection.
However, city's Department of Public Works has been working with AEP officials over the
past several months to determine an alternate route so that the land immediately adjacent to
the realigned SR23 is clear of these large overhead electric cables and maintains its
development potential. As part of this project Commissioners approved moving forward
with the demolition of three(3)homes located at 1128 Corby, 1225 Corby, and 1229 Corby
at its October 11, 2012
At the November 20, 2012 Board of Public Works meeting quotes for the demolition of these
properties were opened. Staff asks for approval of the additional $655 in additional expenditures.
Upon a motion by Mr. Downes, seconded by Mr. Varner and carried unanimously carried,
the Commission approved Resolution No. 3108 approving and authorizing the execution of
an Addendum to the Master Agency Agreement with the Board of Public Works
(Amendment to demolition of homes within AEP electric pole easement by realigned SR23)
2) Resolution No. 3107 authorizing the transfer of real property to the Northeast
Neighborhood Revitalization Organization (1028 and 1104 N. Eddy)
Mr. Schalliol noted that Resolution No. 3107 will transfer two properties owned by the
Redevelopment Commission to the Northeast Neighborhood Revitalization Organization
(NNRO). The properties, located at 1028 and 1104 N. Eddy, were acquired by the
Redevelopment Commission as part of a six property purchase from the Housing Authority
of South Bend in 2010 to help facilitate the Triangle Neighborhood project. The other four
properties acquired from the Housing Authority were transferred previously to the NNRO
11
