2012 ANNUAL REPORT OF THE <br /> INFORMATION AND TECHNOLOGY COMMITTEE <br /> OF THE <br /> SOUTH BEND COMMON COUNCIL <br /> Pursuant to § 2-10 of the South Bend Municipal Code, the following 2012 Annual Report <br /> of the Information and Technology Committee is filed which highlights activities of this calendar <br /> year. <br /> Duties: The Information and Technology Committee is charged with "overseeing the various <br /> activities of the City's information technologies so that all computer systems, websites, and <br /> related technologies are maintained and upgraded so as to remain competitive and up-to- <br /> date with current industry standards" pursuant to § 2-10 (i) 6) of the South Bend Municipal <br /> Code (Emphasis added). <br /> Members: There are four(4) members on this Committee: Council Member Valerie Schey who <br /> served as Vice-Chairperson, Council Member Henry Davis, Jr., Council Member <br /> Tim Scott, and myself, who served as Chairperson. <br /> Meetings and Activities: To date, there have been seven (7)meetings held. Topics addressed at <br /> these meetings included: <br /> • Receiving updates on the St. Joe Valley Metronet <br /> • Approving a local service agreement for a public education and government access <br /> channel [Bill No. 12-13] <br /> • Receiving an update on the new City website prior to it being launched <br /> • Receiving an update on the Vo1P phone system <br /> • Update on the SBPD Communications Center <br /> The Information and Technology Committee will continue monitor upgrades and additions to the <br /> Council's website. An additional goal is to trade in the Acers for Ipads. <br /> Council Member Tim Scott will continue to be oversee a phased in goal to be paperless, in <br /> collaboration with the Office of the City Clerk. An update on this project will take place in the <br /> near future.
