2/5/2021 Gmail - 801 carpentry work
https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0?ik=a2dfa06586&view=pt&search=all&permthid=thread-f%3A1685891105997520442&simpl=msg-f%3A168589110599…1/3
Joshua Specht <joshspecht@gmail.com>
801 carpentry work
8 messages
Julia Rose < Sat, Dec 12, 2020 at 11:37 AM
To:
Hi Josh, I have had a chance to go over things and compiled a general idea of priority items and a rough estimate. Due to
the unknown shape of the wood behind many of these fixes we would ultimately do an hourly rate + materials but I am
able to get a vague idea for such based on the time taken for similar projects in the past.
I have another person I like to work with on these sorts of projects who I would bring in if available. (ladder work is always
better with two).
Also if you decide you would like to have a large amount of the painting done in conjunction I have somebody I could
bring in for that as well and we could address that on a separate note.
Priority fixes;
Replace wood near corners of front porch fascia board
Many places of roof trim/ fascia replace along left and right side of house (identified at least 6 that I can recall off hand
and especially the inward corners)
The roof trim replace would involve replicating existing roof trim so the new patches look the same as old.
A couple areas of soffit replace
Replace rotted fascia/ soffit along back porch
Add backing supports to any of the above mentioned patch-ins as needed
Prime, caulk in and paint all repaired areas
The above fixes would address the animal entry points
Estimated labor cost= 2400 (3 weeks of work at 25. an hour)
Estimated material cost= 500. - 700.
Most of the material cost ends up being in lumber, it is pretty essential that quality wood is used for exterior work, cedar
and oak for their longevity and resistance to rot.
following are some of the eventual other identified repairs needed;
Fix back steps
Replace rotten porch boards on front of house, left and right side
siding patches
replace vertical corner board along house side
window sill and frame replace/patch in
barge board replace
rotten wood panel along house bottom
reglazing on windows as needed
molding replace above windows
Much scraping and painting
Thank you for your time and consideration
-Julia
Joshua Specht <joshspecht@gmail.com>Sun, Dec 13, 2020 at 8:57 AM
To: Julia Rose <a.sirius.statement@gmail.com>
Dear Julia,
Thanks so much for this. I'm going to talk it over with Sarah (my partner). If we did want to go with your services, we could
get this booked in for early Spring? (assuming we follow up reasonably soon).
Thanks again,
Josh
[Quoted text hidden]
