ZONING AND ANNEXATION COMMITTEE <br />The May 12, 2008 meeting of the Zoning. and Annexation Committee of the South Bend Common <br />Council was called to order by its Chairperson, Councilmember AI "Buddy" Kirsits at 4:25 p.m. in <br />the Council's Informal Meeting Room. <br />Committee Members in attendance included Council Members Kirsits, Oliver Davis, Tom <br />LaFountain, David Varner. <br />Other present were: Councilmember's Timothy Rouse, Derek Dieter, Ann Puzzello; Mark Lyons, <br />Adam Keyser, Jason Ward, Kathy Cekanski-Farrand, Council Attorney, John Voorde, City Clerk. <br />BILL NO. 14-08 -REZONING -SOUTHEAST CORNER OF WESTERN AND LOMBARDY <br />(WALGREENS) <br />Chairperson Kirsits began by recognizing Mark Lyons of the Area Plan Commission who <br />described the petition in detail noting that it has received a favorable recommendation from the <br />APC. Currently the assembled 5 parcels are zoned either MF-1 or LB; but request a CB to allow <br />the construction of a 13,580 square foot Walgreens. Jason Ward, an attorney for the petitioner <br />along with Adam Keyser a representative for the developer further explained the specifics of the <br />site plan. All requirements were met and the proposal was found to be in compliance with the <br />City Plan. Pending approval the construction was to start in August with completion 4-5 months <br />later.
