• <br /> Substitute Bill No. 902- FS <br /> ORDINANCE NO. i]O( 3 - <br /> AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ARTICLE 4 OF CHAPTER 4 <br /> OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, <br /> COMMONLY KNOWN AS "LICENSES" . <br /> STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT <br /> The Common Council has determined that a change in the licensing <br /> ordinance is necessary to provide for the public health, safety and <br /> welfare; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br /> OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, THAT: <br /> SECTION I. Section 4-20(F) of Article. 4 of Chapter 4 of the <br /> Municipal Code of the City of South Bend is amended as follows: <br /> Section 4-20(F) . Automotive Repair and Service Centers. <br /> (F) Regulations. All automotive repair and service <br /> centers as herein described shall be governed by the <br /> following regulations: <br /> ( 1) The building or part thereof used for the <br /> application of flammable finishes by means of <br /> spraying or dipping shall conform to the <br /> applicable requirements of NFPA No. 30, Chapter 4, <br /> as it may be amended from time to time, which <br /> copies are hereby adopted by reference and <br /> incorporated herein as though set out in full. <br /> Two ( 2) copies of which are on file and available <br /> for public inspection in the Office of the City <br /> Clerk. <br /> ( 2) Compliance with all electrical wiring and <br /> equipment regulations of the "National Electrical <br /> Code," NFPA No. 70, as it may be amended from time <br /> to time, which standards are hereby adopted by <br /> reference and incorporated herein as though set <br /> out in full. Two ( 2) copies of which are on file <br /> and available for public inspection in the Office <br /> of the City Clerk. <br /> ( 3) Compliance with the maintenance and operation <br /> requirements, and the "Standards for Spray <br /> Finishing Using Flammable and Combustible <br /> Material," as set forth in NFPA No. 33, as it may <br /> be amended from time to time, which standards are <br /> hereby adopted by reference and incorporated <br /> herein as though set out in full. Two ( 2) copies <br /> of which are on file and available for public <br /> inspection in the Office of the City Clerk. <br /> ( 4) Walls and ceilings of the building or part <br /> thereof used for the application of flammable or <br /> combustible material shall have a fire-resistence <br /> rating of not less than one ( 1) hour, and shall be <br /> equipped with fire extinguishing equipment as <br /> specified by the Fire Department. <br />
