• BILL NO. ORDINANCE NO. AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ARTICLE 3 OF CHAPTER 4 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, COMMONLY KNOWN AS "LICENSES" STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT The Common Council has determined that it is necessary to amend Chapter 4, Article 3, Section 4-17 of the South Bend Municipal Code in order to reflect action previously taken to include within Chapter 4 Section 4-20.5, requiring the licensing of vehicle removal services operating within the City of South Bend, Indiana. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I. Chapter 4, Article 3 , Section 4-17 of the South Bend Municipal Code is amended as follows: Section 4-17. Businesses requiring a license. (a) The following businesses shall be licensed and charged the fee so designated. Every business which fails to obtain a proper renewal license by January 31 of each year, shall be assessed an additional late fee of ten (10) percent of the total fee charged, which shall be paid prior to the issuance of a license. (b) In the event an application for license is made after September 1 of each year, the fee shall be prorated to one-half (1/2) of the yearly license fee. (c) Regulated business: (1) Arborist, tree service. ( (lb) Carnivals and circuses. ] ( 2) Automotive repair and service centers. ( 3 ) Food vending vehicles. ( 4) Hotels, motels. ( 5) Laundries, laundries (self-service) , self-service dry cleaners. (6) Massage parlors. (7) Massage technicians. ( 8) Open air stands. ( 9) Peddlers, transient merchants, canvassers. (10) Outdoor motion picture theaters. (11) Paraphernalia (drug-related) . (12) Precious metals. (13) Public parking facilities. (14) Restaurants. ( 15) Restaurants with live entertainment, music (Class A and B cabarets) .
