COMMUNITY & ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT OCTOBER 8,2012 <br /> Committee Members Present: Henry Davis, Karen White, Gavin Ferlic, <br /> Dr. Fred Ferlic <br /> Other Council Members Present: Tim Scott, Valerie Schey, Dr. David Varner, <br /> Oliver Davis <br /> Others Present: Kathy Hahn, Paul Phair, Andrew Nemeth <br /> Agenda: Bill No. 12-74 Abatement—3340 Douglas—Harrington Orthodontics <br /> Henry Davis called his Community&Economic Development Committee to order with <br /> but one item on the agenda. That item was a petition for real property tax abatement filed <br /> by Harrington Orthodontics for proposed construction on land recently annexed to the <br /> City at 3340 Douglas Road. As routinely happens, Kathy Hahn of the Economic <br /> Develo9pment Department reported the details of the petition. Among the pluses <br /> claimed was an increase in 5 jobs, 3 full-time and 2 part-time Kathy added that all <br /> petition requirements had been met. Andrew Nemeth,the developer representing <br /> Harrington provided a handout(a copy is on file in the Office of the City Clerk) and <br /> expanded on Dr. Harrington's vision for his business. <br /> After brief Questions &Answers, Karen White motioned a favorable recommendation to <br /> full Council. Dr. Ferlic seconded and all supported. <br /> Under miscellaneous Henry Davis said his committee will begin reviewing compliance <br /> reports of previously granted abatements. <br /> There being no further business to come before the Community&Economic Committee <br /> at this time, Chairperson Henry Davis, Jr., adjourned the meeting at 5:01 p.m. <br /> Respectfull • itted, <br /> Henry Davis, Jr., Chairperson <br /> Community&Economic Development Committee <br />
