Martin, Clerk <br />Board of Public Works <br />FROM: Finnian Cavanaugh, Project Engineer <br />SUBJECT: Award Project No. 118-08 Guardrail Replacement and Installation <br />DATE: December 15, 2020 <br />On December 15, 2020 I received open-market bids for the above project. I have reviewed them <br />and found them correct. <br />The bidders ranked as follows: <br />Northern Indiana Construction Specialties Company <br />Division 1 $61,508.20 $58,300.00 <br />Division 2 $21,501.25 $39,650.00 <br />Division 3 $18,628.75 $21,600.00 <br />Division 4 $62,883.75 $60,250.00 <br />Division 5 $111,072.00 $103,400.00 <br />Division 6 $28,651.25 $21,800.00 <br />Total $304,245.20 $305,000.00 <br />Project specifications indicate that the lowest responsible bidder would be determined and <br />awarded according to the totality of all divisions. <br />The Open-Market procurement process was followed at the Board of Public Works' <br />recommendation after no bids were received at the project's initial bid deadline of December <br />8th, 2020. <br />I recommend award of a contract for 118-084 Guardrail Replacement and Installation to the <br />lowest responsive / responsible bidder, Northern Indiana Construction in the amount of <br />$304,245.20. <br />Sufficient funds have been appropriated from LRS Street Maintenance, <br />251-06-600-506-436008—PROJ00000221 (PR-00004815). <br />Please email with your questions (fcavanau@southbendin.gov) or call (5961). <br />Enc.
