• ORDINANCE NO. 7 q q AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING TO AND BRINGING WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, CERTAIN LAND LOCATED IN PENN TOWNSHIP, ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, INDIANA STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT A PETITION FOR VOLUNTARY ANNEXATION OF APPROXIMATELY 107.82 ACRES LOCATED IN PENN TOWNSHIP, ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, INDIANA HAS BEEN FILED BY THE OWNERS OF 100% OF THE TERRITORY TO BE ANNEXED. IT IS THE INTENT AND PURPOSE OF THIS ORDINANCE TO ANNEX THE TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA. THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I. THAT THE FOLLOWING DESCRIBED REAL ESTATE IN ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, STATE OF INDIANA, BEING CONTIGUOUS TO THE PRESENT BOUNDARIES OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND IS HEREBY ANNEXED TO AND BROUGHT WITHIN THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND: PARCEL I. The North One-third (1/3) of the West half (1/2) of the Northwest quarter of Section, 33, T. 37 N. , R. 3 E. , Penn Township, St. Joseph County, Indiana being more particularly described as: Beginning at the Northwest Corner of said Section 33; thence N. 89"-38'-01" along the North line of said Section and the Centerline of Jackson Road, 1337.61 ft. to the Northeast Corner of the West half of the Northwest quarter of said Section 33; thence S. 00"-06'-27" W. along the East line of the West half of the Northwest quarter of said Section and the Centerline of Grass Road, 880.07 ft. ; thence N. 89°-52'-48" W. , 1333.39 ft. ; thence N. 00°-10'-04" W. along the West line of Section 33; 868.73 ft. to the Point of Beginning. Containing 26.81 Acres. PARCEL II. That part of the Southeast quarter of Section 32, T. 37 N. , R. 3 E. , Penn Township, St. Joseph County, Indiana which is described as: Beginning at the East quarter Post of said Section; thence S. 0% -30'-57" E. along the East line of said Section, 1336.19 ft. • thence S. 89"-29'-30" W. along the South line of the Noith half of the Southeast quarter of said Section, 2649.56 ft. ; thence N. 00 -08'-29" W. along e North and South quarter line of said Section, 1333.02 ft. ; thence N. 89°th-25'-22" E. along the East and West quarter line of said Section, 2640.47 ft. to the Point of beginning. BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED THAT THE BOUNDARIES OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, ARE HEREBY DECLARED TO BE EXTENDED SO AS TO INCLUDE THE REAL ESTATE OF THE ABOVE DESCRIBED PARCEL AS A PART OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA.
