The Utilities Committee of the South Bend Common Council Minutes rom Meeting of December 12, 2005 The December 12,2005 meeting of the Common Council's Utilities Committee meeting was called to order by its Chairperson Al "Buddy" Krisits at 4:40 p.m. in the Council Informal Meeting Room. Persons in attendance included Council Members Pfeifer, Kelly, Puzzello, Kuspa, Rouse, Kirsits and White. Among those also present were City Clerk John Voorde, City Engineer Carl Littrell,City Community and Economic Director Sharon Kendall,Building Department Director Don Fozo,City Attorney Chuck Leone,Water Works Director John Stancati,Public Works Director Gary Gilot, Controller Catherine Fanello, Jamie Loo (South Bend Tribune), and Aladean M. DeRose substituting for Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand, Council Attorney. A full quorum of the Committee existed in that all members were present, namely Council Members Kirsits, Pfeifer, Kuspa, and Rouse. Bill No.05-145-Rescind Resolution No.05-145 and Provide Water Works Leak Insurance Fund No.644 Partial Repayment to Water Works General Fund No. 620 of Prior Loan. Water Works Division Director John Stancati presented this Bill to the Committee by explaining that prior Resolution No. 05-145 contained an error in the account numbers and that this Bill corrects that error. Board of Works Director Gary Gilot explained that Water Works Leak Insurance Fund owes the Water Works General Fund $260,000 and that the Leak Insurance Fund is repaying $130,000 of that loan. No other persons spoke for or against the Bill. Council Member Puzzello moved to send Bill 05-145 to the full Council with a favorable recommendation. The motion was seconded by Mr. Rouse and it passed unanimously.
