White South Bend, Indiana 46601 <br /> Chairperson, Committee <br /> of the Whole Re: Curb and Sidewalk Programs <br /> Tim Scott <br /> First District Dear Council Members: <br /> Henry Davis, Jr. At the September 26, 2012 Personnel and Finance Committee meeting, a 46-page <br /> Second District handout was provided addressing various questions and concerns raised by the <br /> Council Members during prior committee meetings held on the proposed 2013 civil <br /> Valerie Schey city budget. <br /> Third District <br /> Fred Ferlic I am attaching copies of pages 34-35 of that handout which address in part some of <br /> Fourth District the information on a proposed curb and sidewalk program for next year. <br /> David Varner In light of the discussions we have had to date, I am attaching for your review and <br /> Fifth District support a proposed Resolution. This Resolution urges the City Administration, and <br /> the Division of Engineering in particular, to use minority-owned businesses (MBE) <br /> Oliver J. Davis and women-owned businesses (WBE) to the full extent of the law when work is to <br /> Sixth District be performed by independent contractors. <br /> Derek D. Dieter The proposed Resolution also calls for regular updates on the development and <br /> Large <br /> proposed implementation, and once the program(s) begin regular updates on the <br /> Gavin Ferlic overall implementation throughout next year. Such updates are suggested to be <br /> At Large given to the Council's Public Works and Property Vacation Committee. <br /> Karen L. White With the emphasis which the Common Council has placed on minority and <br /> At Large women-owned business outreach, I believe that this Resolution would further <br /> strengthen our resolve in pro-actively addressing this important need in our <br /> community.
