FO6 geJ /0 <br /> AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $2,879,832 FROM THE COMMUNITY <br /> DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT FUND FOR THE PURPOSE OF DEFRAYING <br /> THE EXPENSES OF THE DEPARTMENT OF ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT OF <br /> THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, AND DESIGNATED SUBGRANTEE <br /> AGENCIES FOR THE PROGRAM YEAR BEGINNING JANUARY 1, 1990 TO <br /> BE ADMINISTERED THROUGH THE DEPARTMENT OF ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT. <br /> Statement of Purpose and Intent: <br /> The government of the City of South Bend, in partnership with the City's <br /> private sector and residents, is committed to the goal of improving the <br /> "quality of life" in the City, its neighborhoods, and for its residents. As <br /> part of this commitment to a comprehensive community development and <br /> improvement program, the City of South Bend through its Department of Economic <br /> Development will apply for and anticipates receiving on or about January 1, <br /> 1990, the approval of the United States Department of Housing and Urban <br /> Development to expend $2,879,832.00 in the execution of certain housing <br /> rehabilitation/assistance, code enforcement, economic development, public <br /> service, and general program planning and development activities. In order to <br /> implement the aforementioned activities, funds are required. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of South <br /> Bend, Indiana as follows: <br /> SECTION I. The sum of $2,879,832 is hereby appropriated for the program <br /> year starting January 1, 1990 from the City of South Bend's Community <br /> Development Block Grant Fund (Program year 1990). The appropriation shall be <br /> used as approved by the United States Department of Housing and Urban <br /> Development under Title Twenty-four (24) of the Code of Federal Regulations, <br /> Part Five Hundred and Seventy (570) for the Community Development Program Year <br /> 1990.
