alley or street may be assumed to be a portion of the yard. <br /> (8) Except as provided by Division 13 , Eevery part of a <br /> required yard, or yard as established by the front building line of any <br /> building constructed on the lot, or eeurtcourtyard shall be an open <br /> space, as defined at §21-1(a) (92) , from its lowest point to the sky <br /> unobstructed, except for the ordinary projections of sills, belt <br /> courses, cornices, ornamental features and eaves; provided, however, <br /> that none of the above projections shall project into a <br /> eeurtcourtyard more than six (6) inches nor into a minimum side yard <br /> more than twelve ( 12) inches. <br /> (9) No cornice shall project over the street line more than <br /> twelve (12) inches. <br /> ( 10) Open or enclosed fire escapes, fireproof outside <br /> stairways and balconies opening upon fire towers projecting into a yard <br /> not more than five ( 5) feet or into a eeurtcourtyard not more than <br /> three and one-half ( 3 1/2) feet, and the ordinary projections of <br /> chimneys and flues, may be permitted by the Building Commissioner where <br /> same are so placed as not to obstruct the light and ventilation. <br /> ( 11) In the "A" , "B"7 and "C";-uBuy-aad-UEu Height and <br /> Area Districts, only one (1) accessory building may be erected in the <br /> rear yard and such accessory building shall not exceed twelve-41R* <br /> fourteen (14) feet in height, nor shall any structures occupy more than <br /> thirty percent (30%) of the rear yard area.
