OF JEFFERSON BLVD. <br /> Dear Members of the Council: <br /> In accordance with Municipal Code Section 18-53 .8 , a favorable <br /> recommendation is being submitted to the Common Council <br /> concerning the Vacation Petition filed by Mr. Anthony George, <br /> 1102 Devon Circle, South Bend, Indiana, to vacate the following <br /> alley: <br /> 1st East/West alley South of Jefferson Boulevard <br /> and between St. Louis Boulevard and the 1st North/ <br /> South alley East of St. Louis Boulevard - approximately <br /> 14 ' wide x 165 ' long. <br /> For your information, a Public Hearing concerning the Vacation <br /> Petition as filed was held by the Board of Public Works on <br /> January 2, 1990 . <br /> Mrs. Cheryl George was present on behalf of her husband, Anthony <br /> George, Petitioner, and spoke in favor of the vacation. Mrs. <br /> George advised the Board that the Zion United Church of Christ, <br /> an adjacent property owner, has advised in writing that they have <br /> no objection to the vacation of the alley. A copy of the letter <br /> from the Church and a copy of the minutes of the Public Hearing <br /> are attached. <br /> Based on favorable comments heard at the Public Hearing and <br /> favorable recommendations received from the Engineering <br /> Department and the Area Plan Commission, the Board favorably <br /> 1308 County-City Building • South Bend, Indiana 46601 • 219/284-9412 <br /> John E.
