Airport Economic Development Area <br /> (7) continued... <br /> Upon a motion by Mr. Varner, seconded by Mr. Downes and <br /> unanimously carried, the Commission accepted the proposal from <br /> Heppenheimer and Korpal for the scope of services and fee <br /> proposed, subject to approval from the Department of Law. <br /> (8) Appointment to Blackthorn Owners' Association Board of <br /> Directors <br /> Mr. Inks noted that Greg Downes has served two years on the <br /> Blackthorn Owners' Association Board of Directors and has <br /> expressed an interest in continuing in that capacity. Appointments <br /> are for three years. <br /> Mr. Davis asked what the Blackthorn Owners Association is. Mr. <br /> Inks responded that the Blackthorn Corporate Park was set up with <br /> an owners' association because there are some common grounds <br /> that are landscaped. The owners association is a collection of <br /> people who own property in the corporate park. They meet <br /> annually to determine the budget for maintaining the corporate <br /> park and address any other issues that concern the property owners <br /> there. The Commission still owns almost half of the property in <br /> the corporate park, so it continues to have a seat on the board of <br /> directors. <br /> Mr. Davis asked what the annual budget is for the association. Mr. <br /> Downes responded that it is approximately $60,000. <br /> Mr. Davis asked Mr. Inks to provide a list of who gets the various <br /> maintenance contracts. <br /> Upon a motion by Mr. Varner, seconded by Mr. Alford and <br /> unanimously carried, the Commission approved the appointment of <br /> Greg Downes to the Blackthorn Owners' Association Board of <br /> Directors for a three-year term ending December 31, 2015. <br /> C. West Washington-Chapin Development Area <br /> There was no business in the West Washington-Chapin Development <br /> Area. <br />
