Specialists 25,469 26,219 27,399 <br /> Captains 25,119 25,869 27,033 <br /> Engineer 23,869 24,619 25,727 <br /> Firefighter 1st Class 20,369 20,869 21,912 <br /> Firefighter 17,919 18,419 19,248 <br /> Firefighter Probationary <br /> (b) The following sets forth the service requirements of the following ranks: <br /> 0-1 year Probationary <br /> 1-2 years Firefighter <br /> 2-3 years Firefighter 1st Class <br /> (c) In the event that local option income tax is adopted in 1991, Three <br /> Hundred Dollars ($300.00) may be paid to each rank over its listed salary base in 1993 <br /> but in no event shall it be attributable to the base for pension purposes. <br /> SECTION III. OVERTIME,RECALL,AND SPECIALTY PAYS. <br /> (a) Overtime and Recall. Any Sworn Member of the South Bend Fire <br /> Department who is required to work overtime or who is recalled, shall be paid at the <br /> rate of one and one-half (1 1/2) times his or her normal rate of pay. <br /> (b) Specialty Pays. <br /> (1) The following Specialty Pays shall be paid the following amounts <br /> which are based on the specified percentage of the Engineer Rank for the year <br /> indicated. For reference purposes, the dollar equivalency is also provided for <br /> informational purposes: <br /> (i) Drivers Pay (2%): For regularly assigned drivers of fire trucks <br /> and other heavy equipment and the personnel assigned to drive <br /> ambulances (excluding those firefighters participating in the <br /> City's Private Ambulance Service Program) on regular or <br /> rotation basis: <br /> 1991 1992 1993 <br /> $477 $492 $515 <br /> (ii) Scuba Divers (2.5%): For regularly assigned scuba divers: <br /> 1991 1992 1993 <br /> $597 $615 $643 <br /> (iii) Paramedics (5.5%): For sworn members performing <br /> paramedic duties: <br /> 1991 1992 1993 <br /> $1,313 $1,354 $1,415 <br />
