Inks <br />Director of Business Assistance <br />City of South Bend <br />Community and Economic Development <br />227 West Jefferson Boulevard, Suite 1200S <br />South Bend, IN 46601 -1830 <br />RE: CENTURY CENTER WEST ENTRY IMPROVEMENTS <br />FUNDING REQUEST <br />Dear Don: <br />On behalf of the Century Center Board of Managers, ADG, Inc. is submitting this funding request to the <br />South Bend Redevelopment Commission for their review and approval. <br />The Century Center wishes to replace the existing West Pedestrian Entry steel hinged doors and framing <br />with a new automatic sliding door system, similar to the South Entry doors installed in 2010. Shifting and <br />settlement of the existing concrete slab and brick pavers causes the doors to bind, not allowing the doors <br />to operate safely. <br />The deteriorating physical conditions of the steel entry doors, paving, and drive -thru canopy have been <br />documented and included in the Century Center's Capital Plan 2012. <br />The Projected Costs of Construction are estimated at $200,000 and will include the necessary materials <br />and labor to complete the following Work: <br />• Complete removal and disposal of the existing steel structure, doors, and glass <br />• Installation of temporary security and weather protection <br />• Removal of the existing brick pavers <br />• Installation of new colored concrete paving (similar to South Entry) <br />• Installation of new steel tube framing (painted) <br />• Installation of new pre - finished curtainwall frame system <br />• Installation of new pre - finished automatic sliding doors /frame (4) <br />• Installation of new pre - finished manual doors /frame (2) <br />• Prep, patch, paint the existing exterior concrete columns <br />• Prep, patch, paint the existing exterior steel canopy framing <br />• Installation of new LED accent lighting to illuminate the existing exterior steel /glass canopy <br />The St. Joseph County Board of Managers for Hotel -Motel Tax has budgeted $150,000 towards the <br />Project for 2012. The Century Center Board of Managers total funding request is equal to the <br />$50,000 difference. <br />922 E.
