This proposed <br /> Third District ordinance focuses on two (2) key items which were priorities for both teams, <br /> Fred Ferlic namely addressing parity over a multi-year basis and addressing rank <br /> Fourth District compression primarily of the Captains. Additionally, it sets forth the October <br /> 18, 2012 tentative agreement reached by the negotiating teams which would: <br /> David Varner <br /> Fifth District • Establish maximum salaries and monetary fringe benefits for calendar years <br /> 2013 and 2014 for sworn members of the South Bend Fire Department. <br /> Oliver J. Davis <br /> Sixth District <br /> • Would establish insurance premium costs for medical insurance at the same <br /> Derek D. Dieter rates as all other city employees. <br /> At Large <br /> • Would recommend to the Board of Public Safety that Martin Luther King be <br /> Gavin Ferlic designated as a designated holiday for all Firefighters who are assigned to <br /> At Large work a four or five day work week. <br /> Karen L. <br /> At Lar e White <br /> • Would establish a modest residency incentive program for all Firefighters <br /> g <br /> who live within the South Bend city limits on a continuous permit basis. <br /> • Would create a specialty pay if a Limited English Proficiency (LEP) <br /> program is established which reflects the changing demographics of South <br /> Bend residents. <br /> • Would begin adjusting the clothing/uniform allowance from $795 to $850 in <br /> 2013 and to $925 in 2014 to begin addressing reductions made in prior years <br /> in light of fiscal challenges. <br />
