We are requesting that <br /> these funds be transferred to a motor equipment account in the same <br /> amount in order to purchase ten police cars. We obtained bids from <br /> local vendors that show a net unit price of $12,595. <br /> As you recall, we eliminated the motor equipment line item from <br /> the Police Department budget at the conclusion of the budget hearings <br /> last year. At that time, I indicated that we would be evaluating our <br /> CCDF revenue in anticipation of purchasing cars from that fund. The <br /> deadline for placing the order with the local vendor, who then must <br /> go through the State, is February 23, 1990, and we will be placing an <br /> order for a total of twenty cars at that time. Prior to the time of <br /> payment, I anticipate identifying the source of additional funds. <br /> I will be happy to answer any questions you or any Council member <br /> may have regarding this Ordinance.
