Bill # <br /> Ordinance # 1 S"$ - ek 1 <br /> AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $51,000.00 FROM THE U.S. DEPARTMENT <br /> OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT FOR THE PURPOSE OF DEFRAYING THE <br /> EXPENSES OF THE SOUTH BEND HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF <br /> SOUTH BEND, INDIANA FOR THE YEAR BEGINNING SEPTEMBER 22, 1990 AND <br /> ENDING SEPTEMBER 21, 1991. <br /> Statement of Purpose and Intent <br /> It is necessary to appropriate the $51,000.00 provided to the <br /> South Bend Human Rights Commission by the U.S. Department of <br /> Housing and Urban Development (HUD) under contract with the <br /> Commission to process housing discrimination complaints arising <br /> within the South Bend Human Rights Commission jurisdiction and <br /> augment our fair housing enforcement efforts by engaging in <br /> outreach, education, training and technical assistance. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the <br /> City of South Bend, Indiana as follows: <br /> Section I.
