You will recall that the Council approved amendments to these rates in November of last year. The ordinance I am filing serves only to amend the charge made for after hours parking, which previously has been referred to as the "special event" rate. All other rates and charges remain the same. This ordinance complements the ordinance transferring funds within the City' s Parking Garage Fund, and the ordinance amending Chapter 20 of the Municipal Code which I have also file today. As with those ordinances, I am asking that the Council suspend its rules and give this ordinance first reading and public hearing and final reading at its March 25th meeting. The proposed rate change will be considered by the Board of Public Works at its March 25th meeting. Your favorable consideration is requested. Please feel free to call if you have any questions.
