STAFF REPORT August 12, 1991 <br /> Initiated by Councilman Lee Slavinskas #1416-90 <br /> Amendment to the Sign Ordinance <br /> The proposed ordinance would amend the sign regulations of the South Bend Zoning <br /> Ordinance by restricting the size of political signs, limiting the amount of <br /> time that they can be displayed, and establishing the amount of fines for <br /> violating the provisions of this ordinance. The proposed amendment would <br /> restrict signs to a maximum of four square feet in size; a maximum height of <br /> three feet ; and a maximum width of four feet. Political signs could not be <br /> erected before 30 days prior to a Primary or General Election and must be remove <br /> no later than 15 days after an election. A $25.00 fine would be established for <br /> the first violation of this ordinance and $50.00 for each subsequent violation <br /> within a calendar year. <br />
