DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN <br /> DEVELOPMENT'S EMERGENCY SHELTER GRANTS PROGRAM <br /> STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT: <br /> In order to deliver services to homeless individuals <br /> within our community, the City of South Bend received funds from the <br /> U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development for the delivery of <br /> such services through the Council of Providers of Services to the <br /> Homeless (CoPOSH) , the Youth Service Bureau of St. Joseph County, <br /> Inc. , the YWCA of St. Joseph County, the City of South Bend Bureau of <br /> Housing and the St. Joseph County AIDS Task Force. The funds <br /> appropriated in this ordinance will aid in defraying the cost of <br /> operating shelters and provide some assistance in homeless prevention. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council <br /> of the City of South Bend, Indiana: <br /> Section I . The sum of $65, 000 . 00 is hereby appropriated <br /> and allocated among accounts as set forth below: <br /> PROJECT NO.
