r ' Council Rules Committee 2005 South Bend Common Council The October 24, 2005 Council Rules Committee was called to order by its Chairperson, Council President Charlotte D. Pfeifer at 5:35 p.m. Persons in attendance included Council Members Dieter, Pfeifer, Puzzello, Varner, Kuspa, Rouse, Kirsits and White; Rita Kopala, City Clerk John Voorde, Jamie Loo of the South Bend Tribune and Council Attorney Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand. Council President Pfeifer noted that the members of the Committee include Council Member White,Dr. Varner and herself Council President Pfeifer noted that the only item to come before the Committee was 2nd Substitute Bill No. 76-05 which would amend Chapter 2, Article 1, Section 2-3.1 of the South Bend Municipal Code addressing the date and location of the Mayor's Annual Address to the Council. Council President Pfeifer noted that about two (2) years ago the Council meeting when the Mayor's Annual Address was changed from the Council Chambers to the Century Center. In her discussions with Mayor Luecke, it was requested that the date be changed to the first meeting in February so that all of the necessary information could be compiled. Mayor Luecke noted that he had requested an off-Monday meeting night for this address, however the Council President thought it should stay at a regular Council meeting. Council Member White made a motion, seconded by Dr. Varner that 2nd Substitute Bill No. 76-05 be recommended favorably to Council. The motion passed. There being no further business to come before the Council Rules Committee, Council President Pfeifer adjourned the meeting at 5:38 p.m. Res ctfully submitted, Council President Charlotte D.
