6.4.1 DROP SKIRT <br />A 6" drop skirt shall be incorporated into the curbside, forward of the rear wheels of <br />the modu le body t o provide additional protection, lower t he side e ntry doorstep well <br />and an aestheticall y pleasing appearance to t he completed ambu lance. <br />6.5 FLOOR <br />The body floor shall have a tubular frame structure with ma in members constructed <br />of .125" x 2" x 2" and .125" x 1" x 2" aluminum tubes, all being fully welded and <br />gusseted. This framework is mounted using rubber gaskets to prevent contact of <br />dissimilar metals. The tubular framing shall be on average of 12" on center. 3/4" <br />thick x 6" wide aluminum shall be welded on top of the cushion rubber mounts <br />installed full length of the body. This is necessary to add additional strength, ease in <br />mounting, and ease in remounting the body later. There shall be plates welded into <br />the floor structure to provide additional mounting support for the cot mounts and <br />technician seat. The floor frame is then plated the entire length with a .090" <br />aluminum moisture barrier mounted under the sub-floor to act as a heat shield and <br />vapor barrier. The sub-floor is then sealed and fastened to the floor structure. <br />6.6 DRIVE SHAFT GUARD <br />A squ are t ube steel drive shaft loop or guard shall be install ed ju st behind front U <br />v_6_ <br />joint. This is des igned to prevent the driveshaft from creating a dangerous situation / <br />such as hitt ing t he ground or wh i pping in the event of a un iversal j oi nt failure . <br />Y_N <br />6.7 COMPARTMENT & ENTRY DOOR CONSTRUCTION <br />All exterior compartment and entry doors shall be constructed of a single piece of <br />.125" she et aluminum . The use of extrusions for doorjambs or doorjambs is not <br />allowed . The door profile shall be a double pan form of 2 .75" total thickness. Each <br />door shall have the seal installed on the outer door pan flange to assure maximum <br />sealing surface and to protect the rotary latching mechanism from environmental <br />influences. Access for maintenance to the latching mechanism shall be through 2.0" <br />mounting holes located in the upper and lower outboard edges of the inner door pan <br />panel. These access holes shall be covered by a reflective device mounted to a <br />rubber grommet cap. The inner door pan flange shall be formed to provide a recess <br />in which the inner door li ner panel is seated. Inner door liner panels shall be affixed <br />to the flange with stai nless steel , serrated spring washers and TX -25 Type F Tor>e- <br />head machi ne screws . Each door shall be insu lated with not less than 2 .0" of spray <br />foam . The insulati on must be configured to prevent contact wi th or t he fouling of t he <br />coated steel latch co nnecti ng rods. The interior door pan of each exterio r door shall <br />be stamped with a unique alphanumeric code denotin g the specific size of that door. <br />Th is cod e sha ll assure the quick and exact rep lacement of a damaged door. <br />6.8 EXTERIOR COMPARTMENT DEPTH <br />All exterior compartments shall have a clear depth of approximately 20 . 75". <br />6.91NSULATION-REFLECTIX-SIDES/CEILING/SPRAYFOAM-FLOOR/STEPWELL <br />Y_NL
