A <br />SECTION 3 <br />3.0 LABORATORY TEST APPARATUS <br />3.1 VEHICLE SUPPORT FIXTURE <br />General Testing Laboratories' vehicle support fixture consists of a bolted <br />10-inch "H" beam frame with gusseted vertical members to support the <br />hydraulic load application cylinders. <br />3.2 LOAD APPLICATION SYSTEM <br />Load application is achieved with servo controlled hydraulic cylinders. The <br />cylinders are attached to the load/vehicle support frame on one end and <br />the other (rod) end has a load cell mounted on it. A cable runs from the <br />load cells to the body blocks or seat frames. <br />3.3 HYDRAULIC SYSTEM MONITORING/CONTROL SYSTEMS <br />The load cell output is monitored by a computer and the computer feeds a <br />signal to the servo valve thus achieving closed loop control.
