A <br />SECTION 2 <br />2.0 FMVSS NUMBER 210 REQUIREMENTS <br />2.1 ANCHORAGE TYPE <br />Anchorages for a Type 2 seat belt assembly (3-point lap/shoulder belt <br />combination assembly) shall be installed at each forward facing outboard <br />designated seating position (DSP) in passenger cars (other than <br />convertibles) and for each DSP in other vehicles as required by FMVSS No. <br />208, "Occupant Crash Protection". <br />2.2 ANCHORAGE SPACING <br />Anchorages for an individual seat belt assembly shall be located at least <br />6.5 inches apart laterally, measured between the vertical centerline of the <br />anchorage bolt holes. <br />2.3 ANCHORAGE LOCATION <br />For a nonadjustable seat in which the seat belt does not bear on the seat <br />frame, a line from the seating reference point (SRP) to the nearest contact <br />point of the seat belt with the hardware attaching it to its anchorage shall <br />make an angle with the horizontal plane of not less than 301 and not more <br />than 751. <br />For an adjustable seat, a line between a point 2.5 inches forward of, and <br />.375 inches above the SRP and the nearest point of contact of the belt with <br />its attachment hardware shall make an angle with the horizontal plane of <br />not less than 300 and not more than 750 when the seat is in its REARMOST <br />POSITION. <br />In an installation in which the seat belt bears on the seat frame, the seat <br />belt anchorage, if not on the seat structure, shall be aft of the rearmost belt <br />contact point on the seat frame when the seat is in its rearmost position. <br />The line from the SRP to the nearest belt contact point on the seat frame <br />shall extend forward from that contact point at an angle with the horizontal <br />plane of not less than 300 and not more than 751. <br />If the seat belt anchorage is on the seat structure, the line from the SRP to <br />the nearest contact point of the belt with its attachment hardware shall <br />extend forward from that contact point at an angle with the horizontal plane <br />of not less than 300 and not more than 750. <br />2 <br />
