Kernan, Mayor <br /> l •l'\\v,,865,x— <br /> Board of Public Works <br /> April 27, 1992 <br /> MEMBERS OF THE COMMON COUNCIL <br /> COUNCIL CHAMBERS <br /> County-City Building, 4th Floor <br /> South Bend, Indiana 46601 <br /> RE: VACATION OF BUTTERNUT ROAD FROM VACATED DOUGLAS ROAD <br /> Dear Members of the Council: <br /> In accordance with Municipal Code Section 18-53. 8, a favorable <br /> recommendation is being submitted to you concerning the Vacation <br /> Petition as filed by the South Bend Redevelopment Authority and St. <br /> Joseph Airport Authority to vacate the following property: <br /> Butternut Road, from vacated Douglas Road north to <br /> Cleveland Road for a distance of approximately <br /> 5320 feet. <br /> For your information, the Board of Public Works, at their meting <br /> held today, received favorable recommendations regarding this <br /> vacation from the Fire Department, Police Department, Department of <br /> Economic Development, Area Plan Commission and the Engineering <br /> Department. <br /> Additionally, the Engineering Department has informed the Board <br /> that Northern Indiana Public Service Company does not have any gas <br /> mains in Butternut Road. However, Indiana Michigan Power has <br /> overhead pole lines running south from Cleveland Road for <br /> approximately one-quarter mile and Indiana Bell Telephone has a <br /> buried cable from Douglas Road to Cleveland Road which terminates <br /> at a jobsite trailer at Cleveland Road. <br /> Therefore, based on this information, the Board of Public Works <br /> submits to the Common Council a favorable recommendation on the <br /> above referred to vacation. <br /> Sincerely, <br /> BO' D OF PUBLIC WORKS <br /> Al <br /> f 1e ' <br /> "' Sandra M.
