DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN <br /> DEVELOPMENT'S EMERGENCY SHELTER GRANTS PROGRAM <br /> STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT: <br /> In order to deliver services to homeless individuals <br /> within our community, the City of South Bend received funds from the <br /> U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development for the delivery of <br /> such services through various subgrantees. The funds appropriated in <br /> this ordinance will aid in defraying the costs of shelter operation <br /> and maintenance and in providing essential services and assistance in <br /> homeless prevention. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of <br /> the City of South Bend, Indiana: <br /> Section I. The sum of $64, 000. 00 is hereby <br /> appropriated and allocated among accounts as set forth below: <br /> PROJECT NO. DESCRIPTION AMOUNT <br /> ES 92-1 Center for the Homeless, Inc. $27, 000 <br /> ES 92-2 Dismas of Michiana 5, 000 <br /> ES 92-3 Housing Development Corp. 9, 700 <br /> of St. Joseph County, Inc. <br /> ES 92-4 Indiana Health Centers, Inc. 2 , 000 <br /> ES 92-5 St. Joseph County AIDS Task Force 6, 000 <br /> ES 92-6 Youth Service Bureau of 11, 100 <br /> St. Joseph County <br /> Administrative Costs 3 ,200 <br /> Total: $64, 000 <br /> Section II. No costs will be incurred or funds <br /> expended for any of the programs addressed in this ordinance prior to <br /> completion and subsequent certification of the Environmental Review <br /> Process specified in Title Twenty-four (24) Part Fifty Eight (58) of <br /> the Code of Federal Regulations, containing the Environmental Review <br /> Procedures for the Emergency Shelter Grants Program, and the receipt <br /> of an official release of funds from the U.S. Department of Housing <br /> and Urban Development. <br /> Section III.
