702 W. LaSalle - Description of proposed work – fall 2020 <br />At upper roof, remove deteriorated half round gutter (installed 2005) and small chimney. Re-roof using <br />asphalt shingles for sloped areas and EPDM membrane for the top flat roof area. Install new roof over <br />two layers of 1.5" polyiso insulation. This will reduce ice damage in winter as well as provide a new <br />vertical face at the roof edge to apply a K-profile gutter. This configuration will allow us to retain all of <br />the existing roof edge details. See figure 1 below. <br /> <br /> <br />figure 1 <br /> <br />The lower porch roof will be re-roofed with an EPDM membrane. We feel that a gutter at the porch roof <br />is not appropriate (it does not have a gutter now and it likely had a built in gutter originally), so propose <br />to divert rainwater to three points and then to the ground via flat roof edge spouts. See figure 2 below <br />and attached roof plan. <br />We will repaint the structure in spring 2021. Some misc. carpentry repair will be required and will <br />match existing. <br />figure 2
