Mayor <br /> y__- <br /> Board of Public Works <br /> February 24, 1992 <br /> MEMBERS OF THE COMMON COUNCIL <br /> COUNCIL CHAMBERS <br /> County-City Building, 4th Floor <br /> South Bend, Indiana 46601 <br /> RE: VACATION OF 1ST, 2ND AND 4TH EAST/WEST ALLEYS NORTH OF <br /> PORTAGE AVENUE AND THE 3RD E/W ALLEY NORTH OF PORTAGE <br /> Dear Members of the Council: <br /> In accordance with Municipal Code Section 18-53 .8, a favorable <br /> recommendation is being submitted to the Common Council <br /> concerning the "revised" Vacation Petition to vacate the <br /> following alleys: <br /> The first, second, and fourth east/west alleys north <br /> of Portage Avenue located between the west right-of-way <br /> line of North Forest Avenue and the east right-of-way <br /> line of the first north/south alley west of Forest <br /> Avenue. In addition, the third east/west alley north <br /> of Portage Avenue located between the east right-of-way <br /> line of North Leland Avenue and the west right-of-way <br /> line of the first north/south alley west of North Forest <br /> Avenue. The total distance of the alleys to be vacated <br /> is approximately 480 feet. <br /> For your information, the Board of Public Works, at its meeting <br /> held today, received favorable recommendations regarding this <br /> vacation from the Engineering Department, Department of Economic <br /> Development and the Fire Department. <br /> Therefore, based on this information, the Board of Public Works <br /> submits to the Common Council a favorable recommendation on the <br /> above referred to vacation. <br /> Sincerely, <br /> BO`•D OF PUBLIC WORKS <br /> 4• ai\zao.
