To qualify for a new license, an applicant must earn a score of not less than seventy-five (75) percent correct ATIWOWtO on a written examination to be given by the Board. The examination shall consist of not less than twenty-five ( 25) questions testing the applicant' knowledge of the Indiana Electrical Xya04 Code and the provisions of this article covering the areas of electrical work involved in the license applied for. The Department shall keep a complete record of each examination for three ( 3) years after the examination. An applicant who fails to pass an examination may be reexamined not earlier than the next scheduled examination upon submitting a new application in compliance with this article. An applicant who passes the examination shall not be required to retake the examination to obtain a license renewal, if he meets the renewal requirements of subsection (h) ( 2) below. (e) Surety bond. Each applicant for a Class A. license must also provide a surety bond, payable to the City in the penal sum of five thousand dollars ($5,000.00) , subject to the approval of the Controller and conditioned upon faithful compliance with the provisions of the building code as it pertains to the regulation of electrical work and apparatus and agreeing to pay all damages, costs and expenses caused by the negligence of the licensee through failure to comply with such provisions.
