XV. OTHER UTILITIES <br />A. Prevailing Specifications: None <br />B. Additions: <br /> <br />1. The Contractor shall verify the locations of all utilities by contacting Indiana811 by calling 811 (in <br />, at least two (2) <br />Indiana) or 1-800-382-5544 (outside of Indiana), or via www.indiana811.org <br />working days, not counting Saturdays, Sundays or federal and state holidays before proceeding <br />with construction. It shall also be the Contractor’s responsibility to contact any other utility that is <br />not contacted by Indiana811 and verify the utility locations. <br />2.TheContractor shall be responsible for working with the other utilities, i.e., gas electric, telephone, <br />etc. in order to assure that all utilities that need to be replaced or relocated can be done with a <br />minimum disturbance to service. The Contractor shall also be responsible for coordinating <br />schedules with the various utilities such that they can proceed with their relocation work as <br />efficiently as possible. <br />3. If the odor of natural gas is detected in a work area at any time during the course of work, the <br />Contractor shall immediately notify NIPSCO at 1-800-634-3524. The Contractor shall also <br />immediately notify the residents of adjacent properties. The Contractor shall advise the residents <br />to evacuate their homes immediately if the odor is present within the dwelling. <br />4. Restoration of sprinkler systems damaged by the Contractor's operations shall be repaired by the <br />Contractor at no additional cost to the City or the Owner of the system. <br /> <br /> <br />XVI. DESCRIPTION OF WORK <br />A. Prevailing Specifications: None <br />B. Additions <br />1. Work to be performed shall include furnishing all equipment, material, insurance, services and <br />labor for complete installation of two (2) new exhaust fans at the Pinhook Water Treatment <br />Plant within the City of South Bend. <br />2. The Contractor shall preserve and protect all surrounding property, structures, tenants, visitors and <br />their property from damage caused by the Contractor’s operations. <br />3. To schedule a visit to the project location at 2801 Riverside Dr., 46616, contact Bradley <br />VanOosterum, Manager of Operations, at (574) 235-5670 or bvanoost@southbendin.gov. <br /> <br />XVII. EXHAUST FANS <br /> <br />A. Prevailing Specifications: None <br />B. Additions <br />1. The Contractor shall supply and install two (2) 2500cfm wall-mounted exhaust fans at the Pinhook <br />Water Treatment Plant. One (1) fan shall be installed on the east side of the building, and the other <br />shall be installed on the west side of the building as shown in the Quote Attachment. <br />2. The Contractor shall cut two (2) wall penetrations measuring approximately 30”x30” – one (1) for <br />each exhaust fan. Exterior bricks, where possible, shall be saved and stored at the treatment plant <br />for future reuse. <br />3. The interior side of the fan shall be connected to down-facing elbows. <br />4. The Contractor shall provide and install motor starters for both fans, each operated by timers and <br />switches just outside of the water treatment rooms. <br />5. The Contractor shall install electric to both exhaust fans, using Schedule 80 PVC raceway and non- <br />corrosive supports, junction boxes, and flexible connections. <br />6. Upon installation, the Contractor shall start up and verify that the system is operational. <br /> <br />XVIII. ATTACHMENTS <br /> <br />A. The Quote Attachment consist of four (4) photographs showing installation locations. <br />2.
