BILL NO. 45-20 <br />ORDINANCE NO. <br />Filed in Clerk's Office <br />StN 2 -3-2-0201 <br />DAWF Nl. iot jES <br />CIN CLERK, SOUTH BEND, IN <br />AN ORDLANCE OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, <br />SETTING THE ANNUAL SALARY FOR THE COMMON COUNCIL MEMBERS FOR <br />CALENDAR YEAR 2021 <br />STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT <br />The South Bend Common Council is required to fix the annual compensation of elected city officers. <br />Indiana Code § 36-4-7-2 authorizes the legislative body to carry out these responsibilities. <br />This ordinance proposes a zero percent (0%) maximum increase for calendar year 2021 for the nine - <br />member Common Council. <br />Now, Therefore it be ordained by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana as follows: <br />Section 1. The maximum salaries for the members of the South Bend Common Council for the 2021 <br />calendar year shall be established as follows, which reflects a maximum 0% increase over the 2020 <br />maximum rate: <br />2020 <br />$20,195 <br />2021 <br />$ 20,195 <br />Section It. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage by the Common <br />Council, approval by the Mayor and legal publication. <br />Karen L.
