It is the single largest retail development in the City. Its loss would not only
eliminate a significant source of employment opportunities, but would also cripple the City's
retail trade.
As every resident of this City knows, Scottsdale Mall has suffered badly over the last
decade. It has an abnormally high vacancy factor. That abnormally high vacancy factor
threatens the continued viability of the Mall and is, in part, the result of a significant
deterioration of the physical facility.
The proposed project is the first step toward renovating the Mall to make it
aesthetically more attractive to shoppers, and more functional for retail tenants.
This project represents a significant commitment by Massachusetts Mutual to the
Mall and to this community at a point in time in which many regional malls are being
Indianapuli5 Fort Wayne South Bend Elkhart
