Mr. Perri responded, stating <br />they are currently full-time positions. Chair White proceeds to ask about the eliminated <br />coordinator positions. Mr. Perri stated they are moved over to the proposed additions. Chair White <br />stated she is appreciative of the Lasalle Park and Programming Grants line items. <br />Couniclmember Lori K. Hamann asked if there would be a reduction in recreational offerings. Mr. <br />Perri stated absolutely not. He is excited about the possibilities in this area. <br />Councilmember Sharon L. McBride asked will the programs that have been canceled out due to <br />Covid-19 be coming back. Mr. Perri replied, stating all of these programs will come back and <br />none of them have been canceled, only put on hold due to the virus. Councilmember McBride had <br />a followup question concerning the Boys and Girls Club, Y.M.C.A., Big Brothers, and Big Sisters. <br />Mr. Perri gave a clarifying answer to the question. Mr. Perri also stated we have a partnership with <br />some of these centers, but we do not outsource. <br />Councilmember Canneth Lee asked will the ones that need to apply for permanent and part-time <br />positions that are posted. Mr. Perri answered any of the permanent and parttime positions working <br />now don't need to rehire. Councilmember Lee asked what the increase in their salaries would be. <br />Mr. Perri responded, you can find the income within the pages in front of you. He didn't have it <br />accessible at the time. <br />Chair White hands the meeting over to City Controller Dan Parker to finish sharing the strategic <br />budget presentation. <br />Mr. Parker shares an extensive PowerPoint going over the remaining information concerning the <br />2021 Strategic Budget Plan. <br />Maurice Scott, Director of Community Initiatives, with offices on the 14th floor of the County -City <br />Building, South Bend, IN, gave a brief talk stating he looks forward to working with Aaron Perri, <br />the school corporation, S.A.V.E team, and keeping the community alive and free. <br />Eric Horvath, Director of Public Works, with offices on the 13th floor of the County -City Building, <br />South Bend, IN, gave a brief presentation about infrastructure changes for the 2021 budget. <br />Dr. Kara Boyles, City Engineer, with offices on the 13th floor of the County -City Building, South <br />Bend, IN, added information for the infrastructure changes that are proposed for the 2021 budget <br />Chair White opened the floor to questions and comments from the Committee and Council <br />Members. <br />Councilmember Jake Teshka gave a thank you to all for their work on the infrastructure. <br />Councilmember Niezgodski asked if the work on twenty-three (23) concerning the extension will <br />allow properties to tap in for use if needed and will the need to repave the entire road be a concern. <br />Mr. Horvath answered by stating there will be work done that will allow access to the waterline <br />for some residents, and they will bore under the ground and will not need to do a cut on the open <br />road. <br />EXCELLENCE I ACCOUNTABILITY I INNOVATION I INCLUSION I EMPOWERMENT <br />455 County -City Building 1227 W Jefferson Bvld'South Bend, Indiana 466011 P 574,235.9221 if 574.235.91731 TTD574.235.5567 •~.southbendin.gov <br />
