BILL NO. <br /> ORDINANCE NO. a)3051-9 <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> SOUTH BEND, INDIANA AMENDING THE MONTHLY INSURANCE <br /> CUSTOMER RATE ADDRESSED IN CHAPTER 17, ARTICLE 6, <br /> SECTION 17-49 (a) OF THE SOUTH BEND MUNICIPAL CODE. <br /> STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT <br /> The Bureau of Waste Water collects monthly charges from water service <br /> customers which are deposited in a separate fund. This fund is used <br /> solely for the repair and/or replacement of leaking water service lines <br /> and shut off valves. <br /> The purpose of this Ordinance is to amend the rate of this monthly <br /> charge from sixty-four cents ($.64) per month to ninety-eight cents ( $.98) <br /> per month so as to eliminate a negative cash balance situation. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, as follows: <br /> Section I. Chapter 17, Article 6, Section 17-49 (a) of the South <br /> Bend Municipal Code shall be, and hereby is, amended to read as follows: <br /> Section 17-49 Assessment of charges; deposits in separate fund, <br /> purpose. <br /> (a) The sum of sixty-fell -eents-+$9.64} ninety-eight cents <br /> ( $.98) per month shall be added to the water service charge of all water <br /> users. <br /> (b) All of said sums of money so collected shall be deposited in <br /> a separate fund of the Bureau of Waste Water and said fund shall be used <br /> solely for the repair and/or replacement of leaking water service lines <br /> and shutoff valves. <br /> Section II. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from <br /> and after its passage by the Common Council and approval by the Mayor and <br /> legal publication. <br /> Medeolife Common Council <br />
