QUALITY AND WORKMANSHIP <br />YES/NO <br />The designoftheapparatus shallembody thelatestapprovedautomotive engineering <br />practices.The workmanship shallbe ofthe highest qualityinitsrespectivefield.Special <br />considerationshallbe given tothefollowing points:Accessibility ofthevariousunits which <br />require periodicmaintenance;ease of operation(including bothpumpinganddriving);and <br />symmetricalproportions.Construction shall beruggedandample safetyfactors shallbe <br />providedtocarry theloadsspecifiedandtomeet bothon and off-roadrequirements and <br />speedconditionsassetforth under PerformanceTestsand Requirements. Welding shallnot <br />beemployedintheassembly of theapparatusin amannerthat shall prevent theready <br />removal ofanycomponentpart for serviceorrepair.Allsteel welding shallfollow American <br />WeldingSociety D1.1-2004 recommendations forstructuralsteelwelding.Allaluminum <br />welding shall follow AmericanWelding SocietyandANSI D1.2-2003 requirementsfor <br />structural welding ofaluminum.Allsheetmetal welding shallfollowAmericanWelding <br />Society B2.1-2000 requirementsforstructural welding of sheetmetal.Fluxcorearc welding <br />to use alloyrods, type 7000, AmericanWelding Society standards A5.20-E70T1.Employees <br />classifiedas welders aretestedand certified tomeetAmericanWelding Society codes upon <br />hire andevery three (3) yearsthereafter. Themanufacturershallberequired tohave an <br />American Welding Societycertified weldinginspectorin plant during working hoursto <br />monitor weld quality. <br />DELIVERY <br />YES/NO <br />Apparatus,toensureproper break inofall componentswhilestill under warranty,shall be <br />delivered underitsownpower- railortruckfreightshall not beacceptable. A qualified <br />delivery engineerrepresenting thecontractor shall deliverthe apparatus andremain fora <br />sufficientlength oftime toinstructpersonnel in the properoperation,care andmaintenanceof <br />theequipmentdelivered. <br />INFORMATION REQUIRED <br />YES/NO <br />Themanufacturer shall supplyattimeof delivery, complete operation andmaintenance <br />manuals coveringthe completed apparatus asdelivered. A permanentplateshallbe mounted <br />in the driver's compartment which specifiesthe quantityandtypeoffluidsrequired including <br />engine oil,engine coolant, transmission, pumptransmission lubrication, pumpprimer and <br />drive axle. <br />PERFORMANCE TESTS AND REQUIREMENTS <br />YES/NO <br />A roadtest shall beconducted with the apparatus fullyloaded anda continuous run of ten <br />(10) miles or moreshallbemade underalldriving conditions, during whichtime the <br />apparatus shall show no loss of poweror overheating.Thetransmissiondrive shaft orshafts, <br />andrearaxlesshallrun quietly and befree fromabnormal vibration ornoisethroughoutthe <br />operatingrangeoftheapparatus.
