South Bend Fire Department <br />The vertical pivoting supports shall be constructed of 2" x 3" stainless steeltube for a more stable <br />and stronger support system. No exceptions. <br />Noexceptionsareallowedtothesinglepivot design,ortherequirementofthe rack beingableto <br />be raised or lowered with the compartment doors open. <br />Ahinged-downpanelshallbeprovidedtocovertheladderrackhydraulicliftcylinderandpivot <br />arm when rack is in the stowed position. <br />Flashinglightsfacingfrontandrearshallbeinstalledontherackandshallbeilluminatedwhenever <br />the rack is in operation. <br />Castaluminumladderbracketswithchromeplatedquickreleasetypemountingclampsshallbe <br />provided which hold theladders to the pivot arm assembly. <br />Aredwarninglightshall beprovidedandmountedinthe cabtowarnthedriverwhenladderrack <br />is not in the stowed position. <br />Theladder rackshallbelockedinthestoredpositionwhentheladderisintheuprightpositionby <br />the hydraulic system. This safety feature must beintegral in the design of the hydraulic system. <br />Whenintheloweredposition,therackshallautomaticallycompensateandtiltbackthree <br />degrees towards the body to allow the ladders to be individually removed from the rack one <br />at a time while maintaining all other ladders in the stored position. <br />Whenconfiguredwiththestandardbodyheightadimensionofapproximately40"shallbe <br />maintainedwhentheladderrackisintheloweredpositionfromthegroundtothebottom <br />oftheladders.Thisdimensionmayincreasewhenatallerbodyheightisspecifiedor <br />required. <br />LADDER MOUNT LOCATION <br />The location of the ladder mounting assembly shall be located on the righthand side of the <br />apparatus body. <br />One (1)Controls, Mtg,Equipment Rack, Rear Body Face <br />90-02-0520 <br />MOUNTING – EQUIPMENT RACK CONTROLS <br />The controls for the ladder rack shall be mountedon the rear body face, onthe same side as the <br />ladderrack. <br />10040-001909/02/20 <br />81 <br />PDF created with pdfFactory Pro trial version www.pdffactory.com <br /> <br />
